No catch. We checked.

Why are we cheaper?

Short answer: we cut out the expensive parts — not the good parts. Here's the long answer, because you deserve to know.

We built a machine, not a call center

pane is roughly 95% automated today — and we keep pushing that number higher. Quotes, labels, customs paperwork and the routine back-and-forth all run through software we built (and keep improving) with a new generation of coding agents from Anthropic and Google. Legacy couriers carry the cost of huge offices, call centers and layers of staff in every single label they sell. We don't, so you don't.

That's also why all of our support is by email. A phone room full of operators is one of the most expensive things a shipping company can run — and the cost lands right back on your rates. So we keep it lean: every euro we don't spend on a call center is a euro off your shipping. We still read every message and reply personally, usually within four business hours.

We'd rather be a lot cheaper than a little

A leaner operation could have meant being a tiny bit cheaper than the competition and quietly pocketing the difference. We did the math and decided that's boring. Instead we chose to offer a genuinely better product at a much lower price — and hand nearly all of the savings to the people who actually need them: you, shipping your parcels.

We barely spend on marketing

No billboards. No glossy ad campaigns. No marketing budget baked into your shipping cost — because if we spent big on ads, we'd have to charge you more to pay for them. Instead, we rely on something simpler: try us, and if we made your life easier and cheaper, tell someone. Word of mouth is the only kind of marketing that doesn't make your next label more expensive.

The middleman is on a diet

For decades, getting a parcel across a border meant feeding a long chain of middlemen, each taking a comfortable cut. That era is quietly ending. In an AI-powered world, you no longer have to pay a fortune for the people in the middle. The bloated intermediaries — the ones who survived on fat margins and even fatter overhead — will have to get lean or disappear.

pane is what the lean version looks like: a thin, efficient layer that takes a small margin and hands you the rest. We think that's exactly how it should be — and honestly, we're glad to be early. We're not mourning the old way of doing things. We're building the new one.

And you? You're the hero of this story

Every time you ship with pane instead of paying retail, you prove that the bloated, overpriced way of moving parcels isn't the only way. You save real money on every shipment — and you nudge an entire market a little closer to sanity. Less overhead, fewer unneeded layers, lower prices for everyone who comes after you.

That's not a small thing. That's a better world for everyone, one parcel at a time. Pioneers welcome.
